Pre-Calculus:
Do section 9.4, #20, 22-26, due on Thursday.

Algebra 2:
Due on Thursday is the packet on graphing radicals. (If you're in Period 2, you'll get this tomorrow.) You should refer to the notes, and check your answers with your graphing calculator, but generally try to do these by hand.

Algebra 1A:
No new homework.

Monday, April 29, 2013

Pre-Calculus:
Due tomorrow, Section 9.4 #1-21 (odd) on arithmetic and geometric sequences. You are expected to take notes in class, and notes will no longer be provided for you.

Algebra 2:
Today we talked about domain and range, and you have a packet due on Wednesday. A lot of people did not turn in the packet on inverses, and this is now considered late (and due ASAP).

Algebra 1A:
No new homework if you're up-to-date. You should be working on your packet on fractions this week.

Friday, April 26, 2013

Pre-Calculus:
If you didn't take the quiz today, it's your responsibility to find me before Wednesday to make it up. Due on Monday is the packet on graphing conics.

Algebra 2:
If you didn't take the quiz today, it's your responsibility to find me before Wednesday to make it up. Due on Monday is the packet on inverses.

Algebra 1A:
If you haven't turned in the packet on graphing parabolas, it's very late at this point. Please get it to me ASAP so that you can boost your grade. Otherwise, you have no homework for the weekend.

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Pre-Calculus:
Make sure you're up-to-date on today's notes. You have a quiz tomorrow, in which you'll be expected to graph ellipses, parabolas, and hyperbolas, as well as find the foci, vertices, eccentricity, and more. Due tomorrow for homework is pages 1-2 of the packet handed out in class today.

Algebra 2:
You have a quiz tomorrow on compositions of functions and inverse functions. Make sure you're up-to-date on the notes. (Nothing on graphing inverses will be on the quiz.) No new homework.

Algebra 1A:
The packet on graphing parabolas is due today. If you haven't turned it in, I want it ASAP.

Pre-Calculus:
Due on Monday, April 22nd is your fake-cation Journal assignment. If you are in school over the break, then we'll work on it in class. If you are not in school, you are expected to finish this independently.

Algebra 2:
Due on Monday, April 22nd is your fake-cation Journal assignment. If you are in school over the break, then we'll work on it in class. If you are not in school, you are expected to finish this independently.

Algebra 1A:
Due on Monday, April 22nd is the packet on MCAS Open Response questions. If you're in the 8th Grade this year, or if you took the 8th Grade ELA MCAS this year (even if you don't think you're an 8th Grader), please complete the 8th Grade Practice MCAS. All other students should work on the 10th Grade Practice MCAS.

Please remember the following:
  • You will likely see problems, or parts of problems, that you don't understand. That's normal, so don't panic! Answer everything you can answer, and guess on everything else.
  • If you have a calculator accommodation on the MCAS (not just for classwork!), then use a calculator for the entire thing (I spoke to you in class on Friday if this is the case). Otherwise, follow the guidelines in the packet about calculator use. (There will be calculator-free sections of the MCAS, so I want you to be prepared.)
  • Every question has something that you can answer! Even getting 1 point is better than getting 0 points, so try each part of each question.
Every year, many students miss passing the MCAS on the first try by only 2 points, usually because they don't bother answering the Open Response questions. Let's work together on getting good at Open Response questions, so you don't have to take MCAS more than once!
