Pre-Calculus
Please answer the following questions:
- Which is a better investment: 8.7% interest, compounded continuously, or 8.75% interest, compounded quarterly?
- You open an IRA, and begin making deposits of $200 per month into a fund that returns, on average, 10% interest compounded monthly. If you begin this practice at age 25 and continue until retirement at age 70, how much money will be in the account?
- In order to retire early and go live on a Fijian island, you calculate that you'll need to save $6,000,000. Assume that you start saving at age 20, and put away the same amount each year. Also assume that you earn 8% interest annually. How much do you need to save each year to retire at age 50?
