Geometry:
No new homework. Remember that the quadrilaterals poster is due on Thursday, so you should start thinking about how you want to put that together. We will be in the computer lab for tomorrow's class.

Algebra 2:
No new homework. Please finish the packet on solving quadratics using square roots, if you haven't already.

Monday, January 23, 2012

Geometry:
Quiz tomorrow! Quiz tomorrow on angles in polygons. You should know how to find the total degree measure in a polygon, the total exterior angle measure, and how to find one interior or exterior angle in a regular polygon.

Due on Thursday is the Quadrilaterals Project. We'll meet in my classroom tomorrow, and back in the computer lab on Wednesday.

Algebra 2:
Quiz tomorrow! Quiz tomorrow on graphing parabolas in vertex and intercept forms. You won't have access to a graphing calculator.

Due Wednesday is the worksheet on solving quadratics with square roots. Refer to the notes if necessary (6th period here, 7th period here).

Geometry:
You have a quiz Tuesday on polygons and angles.

Please do the worksheet from class today. Side 5.1 #1-4 and 7, Side 5.2 #1-8.

Algebra 2:
You have a quiz Tuesday on graphing parabolas. Be prepared for no graphing calculators on at least part of it!

For homework, do the graphing parabolas packet. Refer to today's notes if needed (6th period here, 7th period here).

Thursday, January 19, 2012

Geometry: Today we learned about the sum of exterior angles in a polygon. Please work on the Regular Polygons worksheet from today. Minimum you need to finish the table on the first page.

Algebra 2: Today, you should have handed in your worksheet on graphing in vertex form, and started the packet on intercept form. Please finish intercept form for homework. We'll review and recap the methods tomorrow, practice on Monday, and have a quiz on Tuesday.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Geometry: Please complete the Polygon Sum Formula practice sheet. If your notes aren't clear, refer to the 3rd period or 5th period notes.

Algebra 2: Finish the packet on graphing parabolas in vertex form. Many people are almost done! Tomorrow we look at intercept form.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Geometry: No homework! Please make sure you're up-to-date on today's packet and notes if you missed class.

Algebra 2: Please finish #1-5 on the packet on graphing parabolas in vertex form. Most people finished in class today.

Math Review: Make sure you're getting caught up on assignments, so that you can be done before the end of the term.

Geometry: This week we're studying for the midyear exams. We'll be working on these things until Monday, January 9th, so plan carefully about what (if anything) you need to finish up at home:
  1. Old work -- is your vacation assignment done?
  2. Portfolio -- due by the end of the term, but it's a bad plan to leave it that long
  3. Midyear Exam Review packet that I handed out in class (I'm not collecting this, but make sure you're asking me about stuff you don't know!)
  4. Reference sheets that you can bring to the exam
    • 1 notecard (standard 3"-by-5" size. See me if you need one)
    • your reference sheets: part 1 and part
Algebra 2: This week we're studying for the midyear exams. You have a couple of other things due, so work on planning out your week wisely:
  1. Journal -- due by the last day of the term (January 13th)
  2. Portfolio -- due by the last day of the term
  3. Midyear Exam Review packet that I handed out in class. (I'm not collecting this, but make sure you're asking me about stuff you don't know!)
  4. Notecard for the exam -- you can bring 1 3"x5" card to the exam, written in your own words. If you have concerns about your handwriting, typing is fine, but copying/pasting from the internet and/or a friend is not acceptable.
  5. BRING YOUR CALCULATOR. At least 2 questions on the exam require your graphing calculator and I will not lend any on exam day. If you need to borrow one from a friend, make those arrangements in advance and have it with you when you show up for the exam.

Math Review: No new homework, but please plan to do make-up work over vacation if needed.

Geometry: Finish your portfolio over vacation. If you haven't turned in your Interesting Centers packet, please get that to me ASAP.

Algebra 2: Portfolio and Journal due after vacation. You should get those done ASAP, however, in order to make studying for the Mid Year easier.

    Monday, December 19, 2011

Math Review: No homework. Please make sure you know what you need to finish to pass for the end of the term, and that you're taking the time to do extra work at home or during Academic Support if needed.

Geometry: Your Interesting Centers packet is due before we leave for vacation. The Portfolio is due by the end of the term (January 13th), but you should think about finishing this during vacation so you don't need to worry about it during MidYear Exams.

Algebra 2: You have a Matrices Journal and a Portfolio both due at the end of the term (January 13th), but you should be working on them now. You can easily get both done before we come back from vacation, which will make studying for MidYears easier.

    Thursday, December 15, 2011

    Math Review: No homework.

Geometry: 3rd Period -- no homework. 5th Period, finish the worksheet on interesting centers.

Algebra 2: Quiz tomorrow on matrices stuff. Due Monday is the page on Inverse Matrices (notes from 6th period and 7th period)
